Frank FM Morning Show presents VT Foodbank with $33,000 Donation

107.1 Frank FM, Vermont’s Rock Superstation’s morning show, Greg & The Morning Buzz, recently presented the Vermont Food Bank with a large donation from its annual “Lend A Helping Can” radiothon.

Greg Kretchmar, the host of “Greg and the Morning Buzz” made the presentation to Mica Seely of the Vermont Food Bank. Each year the show, through 107.1 Frank FM, has contributed to Vermont’s food pantries, but this year’s amount of $33,000 eclipsed previous donations.

Lend A Helping Can” is a 2-day radiothon in November each year that reaches from Saint Albans to Portsmouth, NH and supports 15 organizations across New England. This was the 33rd annual “Lend A Helping Can” fundraiser.

Greg Kretchmar, the show’s host, said “It’s really difficult to articulate how grateful we are that our audience once again rose to the occasion and set another record for our Lend a Helping Can Radio Auction! $396,000.00 is the total amount we raised and a number we could never even dream up just a few years ago – and yet that’s what they did! They’re incredible! We’re very lucky to have such a great audience.”

Wally Caswell, VP and General Manager of 107.1 Frank FM said “We are so proud of the continued generosity of our listeners and the loyal audience for Greg and the Morning Buzz here in Vermont. We know that this money will make an enormous difference to many Vermonters, and we’re thrilled to be part of it.”

In addition to the Lend A Helping Can fundraiser, 107.1 Frank FM ’s annual Stuff a Truck Food and Funds drive also collected 7,000+ pounds of food that was donated in early November to The Vermont Foodbank for distribution to emergency food pantries around the listening area for those in need. Matt Houseman, the VP of Programming for Great Eastern Radio said, “The power of radio and its loyal listeners is real, and really amazing”!
